Has anyone tried it with an electric (non-acoustic) guitar? Wondering if the speaker size (8”?) allows for electric/distorted guitars with vocals.

I'm looking forward to your review. I have the Lyric in my '94 HD-28 and have been pleased with it's sound for many years. I also have the K&K mini in another guitar and have often thought that the combination of the 2 would be the best performance option for different venues. This is essentially that type of system. Looking at the price, $450 + installation, is IMO higher than most folks may be willing to pay for something that may or may not be "better" than my Lyric or what system they may be using. (I also have a Fishman Rare Earth Blend that I "pop in" when I need more volume) Regardless ,I will look for your review and know you will be objective in your opinion.

You just need to replace the caps in the preamp. that is a known issue with this model.

My dear fellow, I very much enjoy your videos, however I do have a couple of observations: If your intention is to keep old people such as me out of local music venues by reducing the repertoire of solo acoustic players to a handful of songs which have been over performed in some cases for decades then just say so and I will just stay at home. In my own case I can’t sing or play guitar very well (despite 50+ years of practice). In view of this I decided a little while ago to only perform my own songs. The advantages of this include: no one knows when I make a mistake (unless I pull a face, which does happen quite often), no one joins in and overshadows my performance by singing in time and in tune. I do spend quite a lot of time waiting for bookings.

The beauty of having a guitar with a loud strident tone is you can mellow it down with string ,saddle,and pin choices.

Any advice what I should use for singing and acoustic guitar? I don't want to use pickup just microphone for guitar. I need for practice and small audience. Should I use acoustic amp or PA and which one you are advice?

Very good demo. I have just got an Era1, and can agree 100% about your review, it’s truly an awesome amp. I have an AER Compact 60 amp, considered (and confirmed) a brilliant acoustic amp, and this Era1, in my opinion, is its equal in sound, with added excellent features. Try one if you can, you will likely not be disappointed. 👍🏾

You said you found no difference between the FG3 & FG5. I find the FG3 projects a *lot* louder acoustically than the FG5 does. I find that's the case for Yamaha's made in China vs Japan in general. Everything else is about even. I think the FG5 is the better guitar, but it's more about small nuances and the "prestige" of owning a Japanese made instrument.

Being that this has some "coloring" to the sound, how does it sound playing music through it? I'd like to get one for my boy who lives in a tiny studio apartment. He already has an HX stomp that he uses with headphones. It would be cool if we could use it as a stereo for listening music, a guitar amp and maybe a studio monitor for writing (not mixing).

Love your videos. This one is so important! I tell my beginner guitar students about strap locks but mostly they ignore my advice. (I also use the Fender ones; they're simple and do the job.) I'm going to show this video at my next group class! Good luck on repairing your guitar.

So what I got here is that there isn't any improve of the speaker at all, only the control app is new. Well then, no. I'd rather stay with the old app, which can't update from 5.1.5 to 5.1.8 by the way. It just looses connection while uploading...

Hey Aaron thanks again for the great videos. I was wondering how the Eon Compact went in a gig situation for you. There's a fair few comments on the Internet about it clipping at volumes that are not high, I'm interested to know what your experience was. People have various opinions about its sound compared to the Bose, but it's got some definite advantages eg extra input, app control, 8 inch woofer and more. Its specs say it's louder than the S1 Pro, but is that what you found IRL?

I think they should let the price like that to keep it affordable, but add extensions, like a pedal looping or looping pad as a extension machine to work with the amp doing and update and charge por the looping pedal or looping pad. And keep adding many other futures just charge them as extras and keep the original price. But this product seems to go to be true I will be getting mine soon, let’s see how it does.

Could the bluetooth be used for streaming like UA-cam karaoke

I do the same thing (on my electrics) and I use a metal washer instead of the rubber. It means your strap is on permanently, because you are screwing it on (so to speak), but for an electric - I find it's a perfect solution. For acoustic, maybe I'd use those rubber washers so I can take them off when putting the guitar in a hard case.

That's cool but the Neumann capture is the best, by far. The NUX is the better pedal to emulate.

Wow! I just stumbled on this. I was one of the designers/marketers of the AG Stomp with Yamaha. You are right. We were ahead of our time. This was the first pedal that featured microphone modeling. After I left Yamaha, they incorporated some of this into the Magic Stomp. The Zoom is nowhere near. I still use mine on the road with Grammy artists and the sound is still better than anything. Get on! It will last another 20 years!

can you run a left and right one of these paired wirelessly together (i.e. no cable from one speakers out to the in port of the other)? I know you can bluetooth sound to them, but what about wireless connectivity in stereo to each other?

I love using my old Variax for open tunings and slide guitar. So easy.

The most important part of owning a Variax is learning to replace piezos. The part number is 11-11-0001. You need to keep several in stock and learn to solder them properly. They last decades, but I cannot imagine how many Variax’s have been tossed out because one string stopped working.

Is there any way to add an aftermarket, sound hole volume knob?

Maybe having tone bar bracing would've helped projection.
